The Asikkala Local Heritage Museum

The Asikkala Local Heritage museum is located in Asikkala village near Asikkala Church.

The Asikkala Local Heritage Museum is in the main community of Asikkala, as part of its valuable historic landscape, which is officially listed at the national level. The granary from 1840 standing on the hill near the church is a museum with exhibits of artefacts. The yard area of the old vicarage is a museum site, with relocated buildings and structures form a traditional Häme farmyard with storehouses and stables. In the main room of the main building, dating from 1786, visitors can try their hand at using an old hand-loom. The archive building contains a small exhibition of local archaeological finds. There are various horse-drawn vehicles in the old cowshed, and the museum includes a display of agricultural machinery from chaff cutters to harvesters.

A heritage day is held in the museum area on the second Sunday of July.
The museum is maintained by the Asikkala Local Heritage Association.
